Celebrating the Journey

For almost their entire lives, my boys have played sports. They learned at a very early age that being an athlete meant extreme discipline, focused energy and tremendous effort. They were both very talented and acceled in their individual sports landing each of them a college scholarship. Along the way they collected many trophies, praise and "at-a-boys". Today though, they realize the trophies themselves simply mark a moment in time. Although at the time, the trophies themselves meant everything, now they are just more for me to dust and certainly weren't life changers for the boys. What was life changing were the memories made along the way, the life long friends made and the journey itself.

No doubt, you have collected many trophies in real estate. Have you ever stopped to think of how you've "changed the game" so to speak for your clients? Do you value the relationship or are these experiences simply trophies in your memory bank?

I challenge you this week to reflect back and celebrate one of your victories. Reach out to a client you haven't seen in a while. Don't have a reason to reach out? That's even better! You've celebrated "life victories" with those you've had the opportunity to serve. Remind them just how much they mean to you and going forward take time to celebrate each step of your journey.
