Downloading Videos from YouTube for

Our friend Tammie Smoot with BDX ( got in touch with her techie peeps to answer the question posed at our January Lunch and Learn.

With a clever little add-on in Firefox you can download any video from YouTube in any file format you need, which can then be uploaded to

You first need to make sure you have Firefox downloaded. Once you do, you’ll need to install DownloadHelper (

Once you’ve got DownloadHelper installed, every time you’re on a web page that has a video you’ll see the icon/button circled below will be spinning.

Click on the arrow next to the icon and choose the largest version and click Download & Convert.

Choose the file format you need and then where you want to save it and viola…you have your video!
