Inbox Zero - Step 5 - Unsubscribe

I must have been on 150 different email lists...most of which I can't even tell you how I got there.  The most embarrassing one was Victoria's Secret...I haven't done any online shopping from them that I know of, but they somehow found me.  And I would get a daily email that would often pop up on my email while I was using the projector or up on the big screen in the conference room.  Nice.

So here's the deal...by law, every bulk email list MUST have an "unsubscribe" link at the bottom so that you can opt out.  Click on this link and do it.  I know it must seem like a never ending battle, but I promise.  You do this 5-10 times a day for a few weeks and your junk mail will dry up!  It's such a relief not to get all that stuff!

I realize that some of these things you may care about...Realtor Association, Local Board, HBA, etc.  But you need to get over this.  All these places have websites, when you need to know, then you will go read what is going on.  And better yet, many of them are tweeting now...so you can simply follow them without cluttering up your inbox.

Do it.  Unsubscribe.  Do five today.  Do five tomorrow.

If you are on your iPhone and it is hard to unsubscribe on the fly, simply trash it.  Then at the end of each day, dive into your trash and unsubscribe to everything you can find.  I just did 5 more this morning.  It's fun.

This takes care of Chunk #1 that we talked about in the last post.  Two chunks down, two to go!
