Getting Ready...

I had a boss once tell me that "getting ready" is the most commonly abused excuse in business.  And I can appreciate that...sometimes we get so caught up in "getting ready" that we forget to just DO STUFF.

This is a reminder to JUST DO IT.  All these cool tools and technology that we worked on last week won't do you a damn bit of good unless you have clients.  Period.  On the other hand, if you had a bunch of clients but didn't know quite how to use all our tools...we could overcome that.

At my Fonville bootcamp training 3 years ago there was one instructor who I thought was fantastic.  He told the story of how Johnny Morisey hired him on a Friday and told him to go find someone who wanted to buy or sell a home that weekend.  On Monday morning, this guy walked in to Johnny's office and said, "I found someone who wants to sell their home, now what do I do?"

Now what do I do?  That is a great problem to have.  Nothing happens till we have clients.  This week we will continue to work with each of you on our tools, but more and more, you'll hear our conversations change from tools to prospects.
